“A dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than you love yourself.” – Josh Billings

The owners of this puppy hired a babysitter for their son.  After a few months, the dog became increasingly agitated when the sitter would enter the home.  Becoming suspicious, the parents set up a camera to record the sitter’s interactions with the infant.  The puppy saved their baby’s life.  The sitter had been verbally and physically abusing the infant. The love that this puppy had for his family is endless.  If it were not for this love, this story could have had a tragic ending.  This puppy is a true hero.

Unfortunately, not everyone feels the same about their pets.  It saddens me.  In the last few weeks, I have read numerous stories about the neglect and abuse of our beloved best friends and family members.  All animals are part of God’s creation.  I believe God placed them on this planet to give us tangible proof of his infinite and unconditional love he has for each and every one of us.  I believe that a dog’s love is the closest and purest love to be found on this earth. Just look into the eyes of your pet.  You will find no judgement, just endless love.

Find it in your heart to love an animal especially your pet.  The joy is endless.  If you can’t have one of your own, volunteer at a shelter or stop at the local mall’s pet shop for a little TLC.  If for some reason, life gets in the way and you can’t care for your pet, please find it a home, bring it to shelter, or ask your vet for help. Pets are not disposable.  They are God’s creation too.
